ST. PATRICK & the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
I drew St. Patrick in the style of 6-9th century Northumbro-Irish art, surrounded by decorative knotwork, lacertine animals, geometric patterns and rune-like lettering. He wears a mitre and holds a cloverleaf representing the Holy Trinity.
This companion drawing of the Blessed Virgin Mary I executed in the same style, looking to manuscripts such as the Lindisfarne Gospels, the Book of Kells and the Book of Durrow for inspiration.
